Eagles Holiday Poem

Twas three nights before Christmas, and Philly remembers
When we weren’t this nervous so late in Decembers,
Yet not long ago, we had hung up our stockings,
Thinking the playoffs would only be shocking,

The Eagles were average, they were hardly fightin’,
And then came along the Tennessee Titans
Who led by a rookie arrived and then stunned
Our home team by winning thirteen - thirty-one.
We watched McNabb be hit and he fell,
Severely injuring his ACL,
And just when the season seemed hopeless and grim
A man named Garcia stood up and came in.

His start wasn’t good, the team looked like dolts,
Losing in Indy to a strong herd of Colts.
From that moment on (though only God knew)
The losing was over and hope was renewed.
Against Carolina, on primetime TV,
Garcia threw touchdowns of number three.

Their record now even the Eagles flew south,
Dreaming of Redskin meat in their mouth.
Though closer than hoped for they still got the win,
And raised their win total from six to seven.

In their next crucial contest, the Eagles flew high,
Scoring two late touchdowns to topple Eli.
Now they will go play America’s team,
Trying to fulfill their post-season dream.

The ‘D’ must step up, and prove they’re not phony,
By stopping two men named Terrell and Tony,
And Akers must kick well and Buckhalter run,
To make sure their season will not soon be done.

The NFC East is almost in sight,
Eagles v Cowboys, watch on Monday night.
